Terms and Conditions – Method One Pilates
Welcome to Method One Pilates (“Method One”). By booking a class, purchasing a membership, accessing our website, or engaging with our services, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
These Terms govern your access to and use of Method One’s website, physical studio, and related services.
1. General Information

Method One provides Reformer Pilates classes, private training, workshops, wellness resources, and special events. We may also offer memberships, matcha bar services, and community activities.
2. User Eligibility
By using our services, you confirm that:
You are 18 years or older, or have the necessary consent from a parent or legal guardian.
You understand that participation in physical exercise, including Reformer Pilates, carries inherent risks.
It is your responsibility to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before participating, especially if you have pre-existing injuries, illnesses, or medical conditions.
Pregnancy Policy: If you are pregnant, you must be cleared by your doctor before attending any classes. Please note that Method One does not offer pre- or post-natal specific classes, and therefore we cannot guarantee the safety of certain exercises during pregnancy.
3. Account Registration & Booking
Class bookings and payments are managed via Octiv, a third-party booking and payment system.
You must create an account on Octiv to book classes or purchase memberships.
By using Octiv, you agree to their terms and conditions.
You are responsible for ensuring your account details are accurate and up to date.
Sharing your account or login information is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.
4. Bookings, Payments & Memberships
All bookings must be made and managed through the Octiv app.
Method One accepts payments securely through Octiv in South African Rand (ZAR).
When purchasing class packs, single sessions, or memberships, you authorize Octiv to process payment on behalf of Method One.
All class credits, memberships, and packages are non-transferable and non-refundable, except where specifically provided for in our Refund Policy.
No refunds will be issued in monetary form. All approved refunds will be processed as class credits only.
5. Refund Policy
We strive to provide a fair and transparent refund process:
Single Class Bookings:
Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before your scheduled class to receive a class credit refund.
Cancellations made less than 12 hours before will not be refunded.Class Packs:
Cancellations made at least 12 hours in advance will not result in the loss of a class credit.
Late cancellations (within 12 hours of class time) will result in loss of that class credit.Workshops & Special Events:
Cancellations must be made at least 2 days before the event for a full class credit refund.
Cancellations within 2 days of the event are non-refundable.Medical & Emergency Exceptions:
In the case of medical emergencies or serious unforeseen circumstances, please contact us at hello@methodonepilates.co.za. Supporting documentation may be required.
Approved exceptions will only be refunded as class credits, not monetary refunds.No-Show Policy:
Clients who fail to attend a booked class without prior cancellation will forfeit their class credit and will not be eligible for a refund.
6. Cancellation Policy
To respect the time of our instructors and other clients, we enforce the following:
Standard Classes: Must be canceled 12 hours or more before the class start time to avoid losing your credit.
Late Cancellations: Cancellations made within 12 hours of the class will forfeit the class credit.
Workshops & Events: Cancellations must be made at least 2 days in advance to receive a class credit refund.
7. Late Arrival Policy
Arriving more than 5 minutes after the class start time will result in denied entry, as late arrivals disrupt the class and pose safety risks.
Your booking will be recorded as a no-show, and you will lose the class credit.
Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before your class to check in and set up.
If the front door is locked and there is no receptionist available, the instructor cannot leave the class to open for you.
8. Parking
On-site parking is available at Method One, but parking is at your own risk.
There may sometimes be a security guard on duty, but this cannot be guaranteed at all times.
If on-site parking is full, clients may use Forest Walk Centre parking across the street (Checkers parking area).
9. Studio Regulations & Pricing
Method One reserves the right to change class pack prices, membership fees, schedules, and studio regulations at any time.
It is the responsibility of each client to ensure they are familiar with the most recent prices, policies, and regulations by checking our website, Octiv app, or studio notices.
Continued use of our services following updates constitutes acceptance of these changes.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, including logos, images, class materials, and branding, is the property of Method One Pilates or licensed to us.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any of our content without written permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
By attending classes or using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:
Participation in physical exercise carries inherent risks, including injury.
Method One is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained while participating in our classes or while on our premises, including the parking area.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you are physically capable of participating in our classes.
Always follow instructor guidance and immediately stop any exercise that causes discomfort or pain.
12. Privacy & Data Protection
We respect your privacy and handle all personal information in accordance with South African data protection laws.
Your booking and payment data are securely processed through Octiv.
By using our services, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Termination of Account
You may request to close your account at any time by contacting us.
Method One reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:
Breach of these Terms.
Fraudulent or inappropriate behavior.
Safety concerns.
14. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Pretoria, Gauteng.
15. Amendments to Terms
Method One may update or modify these Terms from time to time.
Updates will be posted on our website with the effective date clearly indicated.
Continued use of our services after changes are posted implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
